fished the rubber factory today with adam123 and shaun got there set up fisrt chuck and shaun was into a fish undersized coaly this continued for his next 2 cast's while i was cracking off(never ever buy red ice its a heap of s**t,every rig i got into the water got snagged up i was not happy this stage.
adam on the other hand apart from getting snagged up most cast he managed to get 2 codling he would of had three but his hook snood snapped. adam left at 5 and me shaun had a couple more chucks and a had one undersized coaly
and shaun a sized flounder

also adam managed to fall down a hole that is almost 6ft wide and 6ft long funniest thing i had seen, but after taking the mick out of him i manged to fall UP the stairs

ive also taking over adam on the crack offs and every thing else lol

baits used
rag
lug
fresh crab

cheers curtis

Getting sick of lending you a reel, leaders and rigs you gota start getting your own stuff curtis :D That red ice line was shocking just breaking mid flight for no reason and snapping right at the tip every snag. Atleast we had a bit of sport i had 4 coalies to 34cm and that flounder.

We'll done on the fish, not a bad sesh.
I had the same problem last week with a more expensive line, just snapping while chucking out or reeling in without any apparent snag. Really frustrating. Fished today with the same line off another spool and no problem all day, could give it a good chuck, no bother, and a good heave out, again no bother.

what breaking strain was the red ice might be a dodgy batch, i just got some in Gateshead not been out to try it yet
Apart from that seems like you all had a good day oot:)

Did the line not feel dodgy when ya put it on ya reel mate sometime ya can feel if it knacked heard mix report about the line.

At least red ice isnt that expensive, same thing was happening to my mates line teklon gold at £15 for 300mtrs i tried every kind a shockleader knot to try and solve the problem but it was keep snapping at the knot or his rod tip.

He changed lines and problem solved must a been a bad batch.

na it felt okay must have been a dogy batch but ano for next time not to by it

My cousin had the same problem mate, always seemed nest or just snap in your hands. Av never used it personally but reading reports of this has put me well off it!:D

Just for a thought mate, I've been using the black ultima F1 and its it works great. Sits well on the spool and has great knot strength. That's my opinion anyway, everybody has there favourite line and brand.

Rubber factory

Well done on the sesh lads, just a quick one where is the rubber factory. I guess its on the north side? is it easy to get on to, what time of the tide do u fish. About the line, ive had a dodgy spool of red ice too wouldnt use again personally i stick to diawa tournament, great line
Cheers lads

I have used ultima f1 for quite a while and although its sits on the spool very nice and casts nicely but I think its more suitable to clean ground rather than mixed ground or anything rough due to its poor abrasion resistance and as when I pull for a break it always tends to snap at the reel. I have used f1 18lb and love using it on the cleanish ground areas on tynemouth pier because the diameter of the line makes it much easier to hold bottom even on the bigger tides, but think I am going to give the suffix tritanium a go as it has much better abrasive qualities and would probably be a better line for the snags of the river.

A don't get how its snaggy there...

The ferry landings just to the right, so it must be dregerd once in a while. When a fish brighams, which is across the river and to the right from where you's were, your casting onto muddy bottom. It must be roughly same or some rocks included...:D:confused:

a think its mainly dredge right in the middle and well i personally can not cast that far but i think a was just having a bad day lol

It's full of **** the fsh quay. Theres prob cars the lot down there but mainly old anchors, chains, line, hundreds of sinkers and lost rigs!

You need a good chuck to avoid most the snags. About 120-130yards gets you past the worst of it with the odd lost rg etc..

140yards plus you tend to lose nothing. Just don't fish it mid tide!

A few lads tend to chuck really short to avoid snags.
