Picked Deano up this morning at 7.45 and headed for the marina for a coffee and pre-fish briefing....:)

We decided to head out to a few wrecks around the 10 mile mark, the conditions were perfect and quite a few boats headed out....

Fishing was patchy and there was very little drift, but as the breeze picked up, so did the fishing :)

We ended up with 4 cod to 8.5lb and 4 ling to 7lb, still the first double of the season eludes us, but a great day to be afloat, with good crack and good company....:)

I'm cream crackered now :D

Hope you got the boat all washed down Chris, took me 40 mins with all that macky blood and the rest of the crap that comes with them.
Welll done on a good day mate:red::red:

Nice trip out by the looks of it chris, I had a 8 hrs at it yesterday, really poor close in only managed a couple around 2 pound mark and plenty of Mackeral if you wanted em, decided to enjoy the sun today rather than head out for more of the same! Looks like a few better fish are starting to populate the wrecks.

The stamp of fish are getting better, I'm sure that you will soon get the double in the boat soon. Did you just get the one makerel!

Hats off to you again mate awesome skipper mint weather, class crack and good fishing cant ask for anymore well apart from the elusive double only a matter of time though mate cheers again

Just woke up from a grandad nap....:o

If you put any sort of hokkai's or feathers on you got hit with mackerel, so it was down to pirks and baited hooks to get past the blighters....:)

Nice haul Chris. It’s funny how we wait all spring for the mackerel to come in, then when they appear we complain because we cannot get past them to the better fish below. Our young 'un loves mackeral, sometime I think he'd be happier seeing a string of them than a double figure cod.

Aye Kevin, they do serve a good purpose, for eating and stocking up with bait :)

I think they only become a problem when you dont adjust your rigs to avoid them...:)
