Competition day today at the Marina in aid of the RNLI...:)

26 anglers headed out for the 7.00 till 1.00 comp...

It was a bit lumpy first doors but the sea flattened off as the day went on..:)

We headed up to Sunderland as Deano could feel it in his water that the wrecks up there would throw a double out....he wasnt far wrong either...:)

First drop i pulled a cod up of 8lb 4oz, after that it was steady away with a few fish coming off each of the wrecks we visited.....still not up to previous seasons standards i reckon...

We headed in with 12 cod between us and quite a few smaller ones thrown back.....also managed to hook a Lampray for the second time this year....not many things phase me but these do, slimy horrible things...:o

Mark the magic wand you sold me, is working great...

I got 2nd place with the cod and £75 prize money between me and Deano...but the comp also raised £120 for the RNLI.....:D:thumbup:

Well done to Wayne Graham with the winning cod of 10lb 12oz....:)

I broke out the Slinky gear today for the special occasion, although the heaviest cod went onto a jigger and set of macky flies while getting the fresh bait, the twin tails nailed a few as well...no pics unfortunately Norman but the excitement of wanting to get straight back down there made me forget to take the pics...but the Slinkies get a big  ...:)

Deano on gutting duty....

Sounds good Norm, tell you what...you can feel those twin tails working down there when youre working them....quite a few are now single tails and they still catch...:)

Great day for you Chris and a few quid too! Glad the rod suits you, I didn't like the dull blue, with red tip! Haha. Much prefer my bright red Sonik, so we are both happy!

Home, depressed and work in the morning, 17 teenagers with hopes of being stars of the stage!

Sound report and congratulations on your 2nd place Chris. Plenty of great reports from the Slinky products, (nice one Norm).
What will be on "order" now with the winnings:D to further advance the fishing experience;)
