Decided to have a couple of hours out at 2.15 this afternoon, mainly to try out the new fish finder, but with the hope of a couple of fish thrown in...:)

Expectations were'nt high with big tides and being greeted with a lumpy ride over the bar, cant believe how it had changed in a few hours.

We gave it a couple of hours but the drift was very fast and getting thrown about it wasnt very pleasant..:(

Deano mentioned the water looked green while we were out there, and when we came into the marina the water in there was covered in green scum and the clarity was like pea soup...

Maybe bait might have made a difference, but the boat got a run out and the fish finder is spot on and doesnt pick up any prop wash under steam, so the transducer bracket is a success....:)

Glad to hear the f finder and bracket are doing the business.

We headed back in about half five with the swell getting bigger and closer sets was hard work.

Still enjoyed the ride out as always mate and fish finder is amazing deffo think it was algae in water didn't look right at all hopefully we get more settled weather thanks again mate for the ride out nd bits nd bobs much appreciated

Aye what a difference a week makes ;)

It was getting worse Martin, never seen the bar so lumpy coming back in, bit it was nice to have a cabin and windscreen wipers today...:D

Deano bought 2 new fish buckets and i bought 2 new filetting knives during the week.....talk about the kiss of death....:D:rolleyes:

i was down east last week Chris and the water was heavy in green algae, i take ou got sorted with a cable.

Always nice to get out Chris, especially after doing a bit of development work! I think I had the best of it early doors, fish came back on again over slack water but soon dropped off when tide picked up again, they had loads of baby sandeels coughing up so must have been some big balls of bait fish down there for em when tide eased. You will be getting into them doubles on the wrecks before long no doubt!!

Me and Deano, are dying to get a nice day to get well offshore onto the deeper wrecks, but this weekend weather never plays ball

Was the missus out with you today Dave

You be out on them soon mate, missus has only managed 1 trip out so far this year, refused to let her back on as she always out fishes me!

Know what you mean about weekend weather, got a mate coming up next weekend hoping to get out but looking at forecast we are stuck in this northerly all week, just praying it changes for him, it will be the classic 'you should've been here last week'

Anyway got plenty in the freezer for him and we can spend the day in the pub!!
