Anyone out there fish for salmon on the tyne,
looking to try the fed beats, or some private beats.
im just looking to spin for these fish, so just after any info on types of lure etc and which parts are actually any good.
not looking to keep them, just purely catch and release.

many thanks in advance

best stretch is without doubt the bywell syndicates bit. which is not totally closed and does have a number of guest tickets available each year

flying C\'s and good ol\' toby\'s do the biz if your spinning

had some canny sea trout at haydon bridge over the years as well. there\'s a camping/caravan site there, which if you\'re staying there allows you to fish the river for nowt. My in laws used to have a caravan there so I used to take advantage!

The Big Waters Angling Club offers the cheapest salmon fishing on the Tyne. £42.00 + joining fee gets you on around 2 miles of the River Tyne at Mickley which is directly opposite Bywell Road.
