It produces good catches when there is a bit of sea running. On the south side between the river wansbeck and the outflow pipe there are various holes and gutters at low tide which hold fish and there is normally deep holes either side of the pipe that also fishes well. On the north side of the river up towards Newbiggin cliffs is also productive.
