Decided to take advantage of the fine weather on Saturday but nearly didnt happen.

Had a couple of repairs to do on the boat(nowt major)on Friday afternoon and as it hasnt been used for a while went onto the river for a blast, everything fine. On the way back in was trying to decide wether or not to fill up with diesel ready for Saturday, anyway decided not to and headed back and would fill up in the morning. MISTAKE.

Arranged with a couple of lads for a 9.30 start and after a quick visit to Billy's for bait met up with the lads at marina gate to be faced with sign "NO DIESEL TILL MONDAY 8TH OCT".
For F#@KS Sake was the response, here we were with half the pie counter from Morrisons and a bag full of lug and squid and nee diesel.

Luckily i borrowed some diesel from work and got sorted, had lost an hour or so by now, eventually got out the marina by 11.00.

Headed up to St Mary's and got on with some fishing. Fished with flowing traces with squid and lug, slow start nothing going. Decided to head out and try some wrecks only resulted in whiting. Been out a couple of hours by now and headed back to St Mary's where the wrasse came out to play.

Mid afternoon the wind changed and the sea lifted so decided to head back in. Had about a dozen fish between us and the crack was good.

Bizarre day, out at sea with a t shirt on in October, England through to Semi's!!!! , learnt one lesson, if you have a hunch for fuel go and get it, nearly missed a good day.

Sounds like a frustrating day that ended well Adam, at least you got among the fish. I saw your original DAISY DUKE for sale on ebay a few weeks ago, its still looking good, (last time I saw it on there i,m sure it had broke the £6000 barrier and had not yet reached the reserve).

I had a bloke pm'd through this site a few weeks ago from Kent i think asking about the boat. Doesn't sound like he went for it. Good boat for somebody.
