Had a few hours in the river yesterday with a couple of mates Ian J and Chut.
I struggled from the off using ragworm, macky and blacks. Ian was catching small flatties and Codling so I could not blame the bait. Chut was hammering the small Codling using fresh peeler. Some canny sizes as well but just under legal size to keep.
Some heavy rainclouds appeared about 1pm and Chut called it a day as he wanted to keep dry and was worn out from catching so many cod.
As soon as the tide turned I started to catch quite a few small codling and flatties-in fact my last cast resulted in a nice trebler of Flounder. Called it a day at 3pm.
A good way to spend a few hours with a couple of mates.
