Went up to St abbs this morning, was a little swell runnig so decided to give it a miss, looked a little dangerous. Moved down the coast and fished Eyemouth for a couple of hours, only 1 small bite. There must have been about 20 seals so decided to move on. We ended up at some cliffs just north of Berwick, We parked the car and had a look around for a way down. We spotted a little old house at the bottom of the cliff so we went and got our gear. The route down the cliff was a little steep,(we followed the sheep tracks). When we eventually got down it all seemed worth it(or so we thought). There was a little outcrop with a big deep bay to the left and very deep water in front. We stayed there for 6 hours and not 1 bite between 3 of us, the conditions looked perfect with a good sea running. Maybie it will be better in the summer with a float or a spinner. Ill definatley be going back for a go. Next time i go ill take a rucksack, dragging a box with 20 sinkers in up a 300ft cliff really takes it out of you.
I took a couple of photos with my phone.

once at the castle dave walk right to the back cliff's you can float fish off the top and couple of the lad's had some good sport just casting a spinner off the cliff straight out letting it sink and then a steady retrive it's snaggy though.you can also spin or float off the bottom rock's to the right got a lot of mackrel off there last year in between tea time and dusk.howick's canny for spinning to. subarine hole just past doctor's house is good for pollock and red cod.and up at beadnell.beadnell point on the back skeer's fishing back in to the bay gave us load's of wrasse on the float and a nice spot spin hope that's some help m8

"tar and brush" i will tell everyone who fishes to keep our countryside clean, i did not tar you with any brush its just i fish up there alot and the shite i find is uncanny, i know one day we will lose the right to fish the castle because of the mess and that would be a great shame. last year early on in the season there were two lads from the toon way ish who had fished the night and had a tent with them, all around the tent were cans and crisp packets and general rubbish, when i got down to the cliff the mess there was just as bad. i had a quick chat and they said they were off soon, i remember saying its a canny hike to craster and my answer was ah its ok my mate will stop here i will walk and get the car and just take the gates off there hinges and come and pick me up. i left to fish after that so i dont know what happened but the mess was still there

point taking and the castle has got a lot more litter the past two years i first fished it 5y ago and it has declined i wouldent care but there's bin's next to the hut next to the entrance. and the hike's half the fun you can also come in the back way at the golf course less of a walk but the hill's a killer! cheer's lee

steva i sometimes go up to the castle early fish it a couple of hours when more people turn up or there are no fish i like to walk back to the harbour stopping off to fish diffarent marks, its taught me a lot over a few years , i love it up that way even when i dont catch its nice to be out:) :)
