What do you lads use to clean the screens on your plotters and fishfinders

When i fitted the new fishfinder a couple of weeks ago i managed to get a mark on the screen, its like a greasy palm print on the anti-glare coating. cant see it when its switched on, but its visible when its off...

I dont want to use any detergent type stuff and water doesnt get it off...

I use the screen wipes which you get for you computer screens, i have also used single sachet lens cleaners which we use on site for cleaning the safety glasses both work very well.

all you need is a clean soft cloth damped with clean water and gently wipe then buff up with dry microfiber. Don't use detergent or any other chemical as they just spread the grease marks. Just plain old H2O. The same applies to laptops.

If you can't get it off with water then you have to be careful not to damage the anti-reflective coating with other chemicals . It is recommended that you should use eyeglass cleaning solution and a lint free cloth and gently rub until marks go.

Chris,
you need alcohol free optics cleaner, you can get the wipes or spray from boots, any alcohol or detergent will remove the anti glare over time.
i have both, use a microfibre cloth or glasses cloth with the spray.

before you clean it blow any dust off.

The wipes i got today were alchohol free Paul, seemed to work ok :), i didnt end up with blue bits on the wipe like i did with my Humminbird plotter...:o:D
