Just picked a couple up from Morrisons, they are on offer £1.50 each (works out about 30p per cm )

What's the best way to cook them? bearing in mind we are very unlikely to have any herbs etc at home.

Thinking of just filleting them and pan frying in butter, will that work?

I did mine in oil mate ,simply pan fried ,it's the best way to enjoy such a great tasting fish ,then just have it with whatever you fancy .

I would say a little oil rather than butter too Keith, just make sure you only turn it once for best results. If you want you can wrap it in foil and cook it in the oven, just wrap it loose but seal the foil and it will steam in it's own juices. Just a wee bit of salt and pepper before you cook them.

Jim.

Not far off Coddy!! I'll not be buying farmed stuff again, too many small bones and not enough meat, not worth the hassle.
