Could be mate big tide as well always think that helps push fish in to but to be honest most beaches in the summer in big seas and big tides don't produce alot sent you a pm about a mark mate

I'm off to Horden for a few hours this evening. Got Sunday dinner at the folks house then I'm escaping sharpish to the beach leaving the FPO and bairn behind to endure cack Sunday afternoon telly :D

Nowt for me either. Shame, another month or so and that sea would have been perfect. I take it you were the one I could see off in the distance up by Black Water?

I was bang in front of White Rock, got there about 4:30 and fished till just gone nine. It seems to be getting pretty snaggy there now; I lost a full set of gear (and a load of line) at range so switched to my braid reel, straightened a couple of hooks and pulled in at least four tackle snags after that (only one of them had a weight on but at least I came out even).

think ill have a look down , on the next big tides then and take a look .

Most beaches will throw up a few fresh run fish during the summer. Fresh crab and rag work excellent early doors. Not many bigger fish about but lots in the 1-2lb range. The link Stewart put on is August, this was July the year after. They are there if you try.

I used to take cod upto 5lb off the beaches at horden in the summer, even during the day,, when the pit was open... using nothing but week old rag worms from cambells pet shop .. great days that I doubt will ever return tbh...

It was the same at the blast, good bags and good average stamp when the water was constantly black. No need to night fish as it was as good in the day as it was in the dark lol. Ah, them were the days!!
