CODHEED

Well-known member
Me and mick just back from a 7 hour session on seaham pier, a few other anglers around and i only saw one fish all day, a codling about 1/2 lb which was caught by me. It also had someone elses old hooks in its gob though too!

was bloody freezing and i spent a fortunae on bait as well as 19 quid to join the seaham club! mick is sick as a chip cos he kept loosing sinkers all day!

all in all a crap day at the office!

I have to say i,ve had much better days at work.
Thats twice i,ve blanked at Seaham-come back Steetly i really really miss you sometimes.
Fish and no tackle loss.

19 quid? it's £25.50 with the key?

Take it you were fishing on the drum end casting south-east to south, I found it's a kelpy nightmare up there, the rest of the pier seems like clear ground.

either way better luck next time.

they didnt have any keys! so i will have to use micks until i pop in and get one at some point

Theres been some good fish off there recently mate. Best by far at night. Had fish to five pound on wed night, lots of whiting and even a dover soul. You dont have to fish the drum to catch decent cod on there.

Ian asked for some advice but we did not get none.
The end was recommended by a mate at mark 3 and straight out. It looks good rocky and kelpy and feels very deep water. The channel looks deep too.We tried half way along casting out to sea and this seemed sandy and ok for less tackle loss.
Defo not giving up on the old girl-its just made me more determined.
Its also a deceiving pier you are actually out a long long way from the cliffs.
Mick.
ps Seaham 2--mick 0 but i,ll be back.
