Headed to Seaham Hall Beach at midday with my dad armed with a load of nice fresh rag, mussel, squid some week old lug. Not a wave in sight when we arrived - totally flat. Anyway set up with 3-0 hooks and loaded up with big baits, my dad got a little knock and pulled in a tiny flatty - gready little bugger. Anyway it turned into a scratching session. We both had loads of bites, but couldn't connect even with size 1 hooks. My dad ended up with the flattie and a coalie. I got 2 whities and a coalie, which were all returned to swim away. Anyway an enjoyable afternoon and it wasn't too cold either. Eager to get amongst the coddies though :D
