Hi Lads

I've only recently joined and thought I'd make my first posting on here. I often look on this site and find it really helpful to find new marks on the north east coast to try.Not to mention the local info members post is invaluable. So thanks in advance.

I am thinking of trying Seaham Hall beach maybe the weekend or monday night. I was hoping some of the regulars over there might share a little local info with me, such as where is safe to park. When does it fish best etc etc.

Any info at all will be much appreciated.

Welcome to nesa mate. If your thinking of fishing the hall beach you can park right next to we're you fish. As come passed the seaham hall hotel there is a car park on your left go passed there about 100yrds down the bank before a right turn you turn left this will take you onto the prom. Once on the prom I like to go to the left and follow it to the end were you will fined a ramp. Park your car anywhere there and fish off the beach. Hope this helps and good luck .

Watch out parking on the prom when there's a big tide and rough seas cos the water does come over, bringing tennis ball sized rocks with it at times

a decent mark is to park in the car park where the cafe is , walk down the steps , turn left and about 100 yds along is a set of caves jutting out ,fish either side of these , good wind blocker on a northerly or a southerly .

You are not allowed to park on the prom without a permit, plenty do it during darkness but you are liable to a parking ticket.there is plenty of parking on the cliff top with steps down to the prom. The permits are only available for the winter months from Durham county council(best of luck ive tried for a few years and havent been lucky enough to get one of the few available.

any where on that beach will fish 3 hours up and 3 down it is mixed ground along there the north end is more sandy with the odd patch of rocks the middle is canny rocky that's where ya drive down south end sandy with patches of rock
until ya get to the featherbed rock which is rocky but it does change when the sea is big if ya going to fish it go down low water and have a look and keep an eye on ya car if ya park down there in day light the wardens now and again take a walk down and slap a ticket on ya car but night ya ok.

when ya go down giz a shout if i am not at work i will have a dodge down and meet up.

Thx lads its much appreciated.

I was thinking about going monday night and trying it. Maybe stay till early morning as im off work at the minute so would like to make the most of the freetime i have.

You get cut off if you fish north of the caves.
As a rule of thumb don't fish north of the caves on a tide bigger than 4.6. And check the sea isn't due to lift over high water.
