Seaton sluice beach

Four of us fished seaton sluice beach yesterday 9.30 - 15.40 never fished there before so didn't know when it was best to fish guess its better towards high water, baits used were rag lug & bluey only 1 small flounder was caught on lug about 2pm, returned to water.
Had a great day regardless of lack of fish four lads good banter great weather, best way to spend a day off work. Would appreciate any advice on best time to fish the sluice area.
