Headed down to fish 'the sumps' at the back of the Kings Arms pub at Seaton Sluice lastnight for low water and to fish it up. First cast caught a Coalie of 32cm and with the incoming tide and a bit of movement in the water thought things looked promising for a Codling but nowt! Fished it about half way up and as we were getting pushed back quickly we packed up and moved down to the River Blyth hoping of a bit sport on smaller baits. Constant rattles on the rod tip in the river which produced plenty of undersized Codling and what Im pretty sure was a small Haddock! Ugly looking thing, I tried uploading the pic but it failed for some reason, I will try again. As the water was near the top at about midnight bites picked up and we caught a couple of descent Whiting of 37cm which I was more than happy with, my biggest anyway. One for the pan and one back to fight another day. Baits used Lug, mussel, frozen crab and squid.
