shady catch report 14/6/08

well bert ,kyle ,keith and myself were out and we got some decent stamp fish
it was a bit lumpy ,but the fishing made up for it
27 cod to about 8lb
4 ling to about 8 lb
and a few nice big crabs about 12" across the back

Nice one Sless, mornings like that, when you don't expect to get out at all are a complete bonus. It's uncanny how Bert always seems to find the fish even in less than ideal conditions Cheers!

I'm not to sure about the brown meat looks a bit snotty dunno if I cooked them too long or not long enough.

The white meat looks & tastes nice, crab sarnys for tea.

Well with comps canceled and weather looking a bit ****ty we had only planned on a flatty trip either on the inside of Tynemouth pier or the outside of Shields pier ! there was a canny swell early on and with us having a bit of a lie in it was 630am at the pier end !
The tide was ripping and the water very discolored and with a big swell things looked a little bleak to say the least !,also couldn't find my 3 lobster pots ,i was gutted ,We headed close in to boaties bay where one of the lads was fishing ,Got owt ?....... plenty of tigers was the reply ,we never tried and continued on to hots spot number 2 with him following alongside,after a dozen or so drifts with various methods only one cod about 6lb to Keith ! Next stop 3 mile east to another good location wk, there also only one cod to myself but Sless was busy filling the box up with fresh bait ..actually put a smile on his face being this seasons first boat trip for him
I was beginning to think that this was the way things were going to be today,after consulting the chart decided on last gasp location and boy did it come up with the goods, at one point all 4 of us were into fish at the same time ...and without a net !!
Great morning and good company ,,,,pitty about the comp though ,we must have put about a dozen ling back just under size
Ower fish filliter says that its the best stamp of cod he has seen this year and he should know, all cod between 4-8lb CLASS

sounds like it was a hard days fishing till you hit them nice fish and well done all

im still waiting to get out on the boat knowing my luck when i do there will be fook all aboot lol
