Shields pier 12/04/14

Fished the brass ball last night 7.30pm till around 1am. Not a bite until around 11.30pm then had one every cast but couldn't connect to any, wind was blowing hard most of the night but was just about fishable. Ended up with a blank but wasn't expecting much, was just glad to be out. Baits used fresh crab, frozen blacks, mackerel, bluey.

Fished the brass ball from top of water till 7 o'clock had one good flounder and a couple of tommies.Must have just missed you when i came off.Had the whole pier to myself from about 16:00,those pots were a pain though there's only a couple of beats but right where i wanted to fish it on the flood. Hopefully we'll get a few plaice before long! 100 percent for effort though mate,that wind was a bit of a mare at times!

Cheers mate. Aye had whole pier to myself all night. When the bites started coming on I was already battered off the wind n thinking about packing in but struggled through for another hour or so. Be back on the pier on sat for a club match so hoping them plaice turn up!!!
