Shields Pier 30/05/11

I went spinning on the pier before the first gate from about 3-4.30 but only managed one small fish about 8 inches.

I took a walk to the end where about 40 people were fishing. One person had about 6 mackerel and a few coalies the other had about 10 mackerel, most people I asked had caught nothing.

There was one bloke extremely drunk staggering about with 6 daylites swinging all over but apart from that most people seemed to be just enjoying the fishing. Unfortunately the minority often spoil things and I don't think I would take a child anywhere near the end.

spot on m8 shame about the idiot but thats what we have to endure during the macky season. Ya should try first light or late on when the idiots are too drunk an gone home or tucked up in there pit nursing hangovers

There was loads of these caught last thursday on daylites

A cuple of lads gave me a few to use as bait on the mull as i was bait fishing

there will be plenty more drunks to see as the summer gets nearer!a danger to them selves and everyone around them!
