Shields pier 9.6.08

Fished Shileds today 5am until 9.30am this monring.

Cracking weather with sun very hot at 6am....ended up with 7 nice size plaice, best 2lb 7oz..kept for tea and 9 pollack from 1lb upto my p.b from Shields pier, chucked it back but would say knocking of for 4lb easy, also finished the day will a small 6" brill.

Canny day but lost abit of gear on the potters ropes that seem to be all over at the moment.

where on the pier were you fishing mate, well done on the catch

between 44 mark and the end for the pollack and just before the blocks for the flattys.

Never seen so many pollack, think i have caught over 30 this season already from Shileds pier and all over the 1lb mark, just hope they dont all get kept for catch food etc int he summer months.

what were you using to catch the pollack

Lumi and black red gills on a 2ft flowing rig, windng back slow bottom to mid water close in.

Fished for them for eyars off Shields but only this year had them in any real number day in day out.

Like is aid before just hope alot go back and dont end up dead for little reason, with coalie vanishing quick and other species going its nice to see the pollack kicking about now
