Got to pier about 6.30pm n set up 20m short of first gates, first cast had a tiny whiting about 15cm. Third cast had little codling then nowt for an hour or so, was talking to 2 canny lads fishing the gate who had been out since 11am n never had nowt all day! Them lads left around 9ish n straight away i got another little codling then a decent coley what looked around 2lb (turned out to be 1.9lb). All went quiet again until me last cast at around 11.30pm when got a cracking bite and reeled in another canny coley than weighed in at 1.4lb. Stil had bait left but had to pack up as me car was in the carpark that gets locked at 12 so all in all i had fun, caught a few little uns n even took a couple home to make some fishcakes! haha.
Bait used peeler/rag cocktail on a pennel rig.
