BRUTAL!!!! fished Shields pier today with "The Whitburn Ghost" from 11 am till we got blew off at 5.30. Managed two whitey's that failed to beat my PB. 2The ghost had a DAB and two very nice whitey's just over a pound which went back.
Although the ellusive Cod's escaped again, i learned loads from "the ghost" about all the diffrent shots on the pier and tides etc (thanks Alan).
It was a learnin curve today but we stuck it out.
Three lads from Peterlee on the end with us but only lasted about an hour due to the conditions.
Think there was a codling about 2 1/2 pound taken from the second steps area during the afternoon where two lads were fishing.
