Shields Pier today 21/8/11

Fished today from 1.00-5.30 about 30 yards from the end, nothing for the first couple of hours then a mental 30 minutes, ended up with 21 mackerel, everyone was catching, lost something big on the lift my sonik 14ft 5-7 oz was bent double, having to pump the rod to get it in, came off right at the bottom of the wall, wish i could have at least seen it.

same happened to me 2 weeks ago having to pump it in never got a chance to see it either,was thinkin could maybe have been salmon?

Salmon or could have been a cod or big Pollack they go for lures/daylights.

well done on the macky l got one wasnt fishing for them just wetting my line l fished the end with bob olly and mark l managed a lb2 1/2 cod bob was flatty bashing he had afew and olly had a cod of lb2 1/2 and a couple more just over the lb mark a few gurnards coming in to it was a canny day and mark had a canny pouting and a few small coddling

you say you was weting your line but a think you was just to mean to buy a set of daylites so you used a bare hook ha ha ha and you forgot to mention me cod and me couple of gurnard a got as well , any way well done on the few cod you got mate

When you were leaving I asked you done and u said you caught 21 like, but that's the third time av talked to you and you havnt recongnised me!! A was the guy fishing with me mate near the brigade hut who asked you how you did. A knew it was you walkin doon as a recongnise ya face, and the big sticker on ya box isnt hard to spot the obvious!! .
