I didnt plan to go out this morning but I popped in to Reelsport for a few Zeniths and couple of other spinners and decided I could fit an hour in before work so headed to the end of the pier with my pike rod for a few mackerel, Lost one on the lift then something hit my zenith hard, I stood on the small wall and looked over to see a sea trout but no way I could lift it so dragged it around to the steps and yes before anyone says I know they have to be returned, Then after a couple more casts got my Mackerel

Cheers lads, There was only 5 on the end and a few around the blocks and no nutters with cans which was good to see lol

We were up dunstanburgh castle yesterday and we seen a couple of porpoises come around the corner and either a sea trout or salmon jumped, so they must have been chasing them and i said to ritchie , it would be class to get 1 of them sea trout on a spinner and see what the fight would be like and hey there you go ,chris gets 1 , well done mt .

Yeah was a nightmare holding my rod too and the stench of pi** on the steps haha

I didnt take my scales mate but I would guess around the 2 1/2 to 3lb mark, Gonna have another hour or 2 there tomorrow

Seen a few jumping out the water on Sunday morning - down next to the brigade hut and on the harbour side of the 44, both places only about 20-30yards out.
