The superb speedmaster is without a doubt still the best built all round centifugal braked small casting reel out there.

I have ordered 2 Avets so makes this my third one excess, so i selling it.

Always kepted well serviced, loaded with 15ld f1 line, lubed with rocketfuel casts like a dream, set up with 2 small red brake blocks, built like a brick ****house, and a very quick retreive. Casts like a 7HT but has big handle and winching power like a SLOSH. This is the more expensive fighting star version. Supream Japanese quality - makes most other reels look like cheap and nasty crap. Few little marks and nicks but nothing serious or corisive.

£65

Collection from gateshead metrocentre area. inbox me - can be seen working / collected up to noon, or after 9.30pm most days (due to working patterns).

Has it had new bearings or drag washers? Any pics?
If its the tsmIIcfs I may be interested but have to be a bit more realistic with the £'s for a reel that's a fair few years old.

U kiddin rite?? :o

His gear has always been excellent and in very good condtion, its worth every single penny he wants for it... :)

Mick the price is very very realistic for a much sought after classic - it aint a run of the mill made in china or plastic componanted reel.

reel is 100% original and sought after japanese quality that you simply dont see on the current Penns / abus / akios / diawa`s. They stopped making them as they cost to much to make and turn a profit on. Big casting distances that still ranks up with the best small casting reels out there, with the advantage of big handle and return.

The price stands and is cheap for what it is, there is pics on the thread if you give them time to load,if you still cant see them, view my fishy stuff album on my profile, they are in there as well.

nothing comes close to these or the original swedish abu`s outta the small casting reels for quality, longtivity and performance combined. (well maybe the new Avets MC`s - which ive just got 2 off hence selling this, or mega expensive morrums and calcutters - this my 3rd choice one which is now surplus.)

you wo,nt be disapointed with your avets cracking reels the mc,s might be slighty over magged but the sx,s are flying machines ive run the mc on the least setting mag and done the same on the sx and the sx just goes on and on had i few birdys at 1st but i had overfilled the spool but now it flies out caught a 5 pounder in the river with it came in like a couple of pounds solid reels american quality built to last enjoy.

Andy, shut up man.

Geordie G, I know all about the reels and the quality as I've had a few of the tsmIIcfs's over the years. There were two models the IIcfs and IIfs, only difference was the cfs had the centifugal brake system (denoted by the 'c' in cfs) the fs didnt and was very very difficult to control. Both had the fightin star (fs) drag. Last one I had I sold to a lad on here a few years back (think for about £35 and it was spot on). Like you are now it was surplus to requirements, always regretted selling it.
Only asking as the reel could quite feasibly be over 25yr old, I know they're tough reels but still an old reel. Can't see pics on the thread and ones in your album won't enlarge so can't make out condition or the model. If it is the tsmII then its got to be at least 20yr old. The III an IV models that Shimano introduced a while after phasing the II out aren't in the same league imo.
Best of luck with getting rid of it, if you're stuck drop me a pm, may be able to do a deal.

Wonderful reels, years ahead of their time. Better than most reel you will buy today and it looks in great condition. I think if you spent £20 for a mono mag conversion you would keep the reel yourself !. I must admit to being biased as I have four of them myself, two converted to a mono mag originally IIFS and two IICFS.

Stick to your guns on the price and best of luck (but I still think you should keep and convert it !)
