Here is a quick video of me shore fishing in Norway on Saturday afternoon. The target species was a halibut but never hooked one. Instead I managed 5 cod between 4 - 11lb. Here were a couple I managed to get on Video…

We got back yesterday from Flatanger about hour and a half away. Big comp was on. Had presentation in Zanzibar Inn the local pub. £7.50 for a pint.

That's what fishing ought to be about. not chucking lumps of lead and dead fish into the sea and chewing your fingernails for an hour hoping something will smell your bait.

Lure fishing is something altogether more enjoyable but unfortunately shore fishing with lures along the Durham coastline is like trying to catch a taxi in London in the middle of a pea-souper of a fog.
The water's just too damn coloured for fishing lures where sight is required rather than smell.
