Well guys just back from a visit to Skarnsundet in Norway. Spent most of it sliding on the ice and ending up on my ar-e.
Fishing was good first night on the pier outside of the apartments. Heres my mate Douggie with a 4lb Haddock-we had this for tea later.
Personal bests were broken by all of us.
Doug had a fine Cod of 14 lb from the shore.Which nearly took his and his mates Waynes rods in when the bite went unseen.
Ians 9lb also from the shore.
We were lucky enough to have the use of a boat as well and this opened up a brill oppertunity for shad fishing.
Wayne caught this 14 pounder on an old favourite a blue storm eyed shad from a distance of 15 feet from the side of the Fjord.
Followed by a 10lb plus Pollack.
Unfortuntley i did not get my doubler----but i did beat my personal best with a 9 and 1/2 pound Pollack and 7 1/2 pound Cod also from the boat.
Phil the guide was spot on and tried his hardest to get us decent fish in trying conditions. On a couple of occasions we blanked-but on others we did well-especially with he boat,
Thanks Phil for an excellent few days Mick.
PS if anyone is going out and needs advice pm me and i,ll ring you OR e-mail with some tips-----main one is pay the extra £12 for the extra 15kg luggaetake a coolbox - filled with grub on the way and frozen fish back again. Food is VERY EXPENSIVE.
Tight lines Mick.
pps we are booking again for 2012 but in warmer temps.
