A nice fine morning saw Tony and I up and out for 5.00am in anticipation not of a big catch but of something .....
My target I thought was achievable at 6 fish to the boat however Tony was a little less optimistic preferring to forcast one between us ... :)

Well, if he'd really been a betting man I'm sure he could have found favourable odds ...... then, cleaned up :) as yes, that was the total score one coddy between us, the same number of points picked up by the magpies today (or, half the number squandered by the mags if you feel that way).

So that was it all quiet at sea, a gentle "Freezing" South Wind a slow rolling sea and "almost" not a fish in sight. Met with a few out today that were also experiencing the same so its the prey and not the predator at fault.

Nice to see some familiar faces out there again, I'm sure it'll come good soon, maybe next week :)

Anyway was time at least to dust off the cameras ........

and a short (very short) video at the end, simply, after eventually boating the small codling I was so pleased and relieved that the 60 odd mile over the past couple of trips had eventually produced a fish that there was really only one thing I could do with it ....... see video :)

couple of pics of the day ....

Sunrises ..... once again .... magic !

and a familiar face (over his favourite wreck) Arthur with Lazy Daze

and what to do with the first fish in 60 mile ...... :) :)

I have been waiting fot thereports comming in today as the weather was lush but kind of expected the results with the algi blooom and the sea temp all being out of season. Nice day at sea weather wise and nice report...2 more weeks i think :)

Well done on catching a fish Norm :), it would probably have won the H/F for April...:D Was it caught on shad of bait...

LOL yes the "theories"...oft discussed and pondered over

Bottom line is they aint there in numbers yet for whatever reason

Cracking day to be out though and great to set the wee fella free ;)

Until next time :)

Pleased to see someone getting something norm, I'm sure you were next to us today when you got. Seen Arthur today, he took us up to that wreck. We will have a bit crack next time we see you. You won't miss us prob the smallest boat oot there we have pal.

Nice one team Slinky. 60mls for a fish shows real dedication......and a deep wallet:D It sure was tough out there yesterday, but great to see a few boats out giving it a go.
I ended up beside the north Tyne pier trying for a plaice, but only managed 1 dab:(
