Slosh 20 repairs

The last time I used my slosh 20 the clutch lever was really tight, managed to pull it down though but when I cast it, the reel really screamed, then when I reeled in, with a fish on, the gears were just jumping, I had to pull it in by hand.

Does anyone know what might be wrong and could it be something I can fix myself? or can anyone recommend someone who can fix reels?

sounds like the spindle may have snapped of the base plate. does the handle feel a bit loose? its a really common problem with that series of reels. will cost you about £15 to get it fixed as long as the gears havent sheared as well.

I'll have a look at it for you Andy. I've just stripped and rebuilt a Slosh20. I can show you how to strip it yourself if you like, just pm me mate.

Cheers lads, and thanks very much mark - I stripped it last night to have a look - it doesnt look like anything is broken so ive cleaned it, oiled it and put back together - and it seems to be ok now, but that's just in the house, I'll have to pop out tonight to give it a try, I'll let you know mark.
