Small Boat Outing...Aug possibly

I dont know how many people on here have towable boats but I was wondering if anyone would be intrested in a outing to Luce bay during late August or early sept.

At this time of year the smaller male tope have left and it is predominantly the larger (50-70) females left. There is also good fishing for pollock, wrasse and gurnard to be had. A real chance to try some catch and release fishing at its best.

Luce bay is about 3 1/2 hrs tow from Newcastle. We could arrange a launch in advance, and the advantage of the peninsula having an east and west coast within 3/4 mile of one another means the chances of getting blow off are slim. It does work well to fish different areas and then share info to locate the tope. Travel sat am and return sunday night.

Anyone intrested in a get together?

Cheers
Dave

Sounds good, count me in. :D

It might take my old landrover a while to get their with the boat on tho. Bit of a challange for it anyway.

We might be having a look up their in July aswell.

might do, depends on time/dates etc

new boat next hopefully by next week so will want to make the most of it this summer

We,ve never been up that way with the boat yet. fancy a few trips away tho.
Done plenty of shore fishing on the mull, great place.

got to drive to portsmouth to pick it on friday, which I\'m not looking forward to.

it was a compromise buy! had to be something tracey and the kids would be comfy on!

looking forward to taking it out to play.... watch a prevailing easterly arrive for the next month

well that was finns input, didn\'t care what it was as long as its got a proper wheel

holly\'s input was, wiil we be able to see wales and dolphins from it

tracey\'s input: \"you\'ve bought another what??\" followed by, \"I hope I don\'t wet my knickers every time I get in this one\"

my input\" \"how fast can it go\"

put that lot together and that what I got!, well will have on friday, deposit paid t\'other day, just gotta turn up with the remaing wedge on friday

Nice boat mark. Certainly dont envy you the tow from portsmouth.

The launching in Luce bay is all beach launches. There are tractors available in some places and could easily be arranged if we have a date planned. The tides dont seem to matter although it does seem to fish better on the bigger tides.

I\'m hoping to get over there on the 1 and 2nd of july (if not before) and if anyone wants to come along I am sure I can sort a launch. I can imagine Graham checking his diary as he reads this :)

Some of the beaches are suitable for launching without a 4x4 but it does limit your options.

Ian Burret reckons he has had a scottish record ballan wrasse this week and two igfa class records on fly, but all were returned to fight again :)

PM me if anyone fancies the trip on the 1st and we will sort something out.

beach launches are about all I ever do, If I make it I\'ll be in the discovery, so anyone else that needs to use it to get over the sand is welcome to

I have nothing planned for that weekend Dave but please consider me last so others have a chance. However, if an outing does happen I volanteer to be your deck bitch (dunno about the steak tho!)

Lovely looking boat mark, bet u cant wait to get her out there

I will look into the 1st and 2nd of July Dave.

I\'ve got a old landrover 90 with chunky tyre\'s on and also don\'t mind helping anyone out with launching if I can.
It\'s got about the same comforts of an old tractor ;)

Hi Dave
Nice off you to offer my launching services without even asking. I don\'t mind helping someone out a couple of times. After that they are expected to sort them selves out with 4 wheel drive
