fished smiths dock today,got there about 11,30ish fished two rods, one with big bait on runny down and mussle,other with two hook flapper with small bait on,start was slow,didint have a nibble for about a hr,then small flattie,followed by a few more,just before dark got a small codling an i mean small8inch if that,then had a few bigger codling an the odd whiting,again all two small for the pan,bout 6ish a few more lads came down,asked how i was getting on an told them,one said they will start coming on now,i told him i was running out of bait,( fishermans nightmare ) he said if u get stuck come an see us we have plenty,( thought that was very nice of him ) last chuck got snagged and snapped so decided to call it a night,altho wasnt much good was better then sitting in house.

fished Smiths dock the day before with my laddie, got one codling about 3/4 lb on squid but absolutely no other bites in 3 1/2 hours.

sounds canny bet it was muddy down there today with the rain
