Have I left it too late?
Thinking of a bit fishing tomorrow

Had a session at cleveleys bout 4 weeks ago with live peeler squid & lug & only just managed not to blank! 7 hours fishing = 1 bass under 1lb in weight apparently been very poor this year

Iv heard Skegness was doing ok bout 4weeks ago

Am I wasting my time now
I would love to get another hound before the cod fishing takes over

Too late I think now like, was told they start to go off around the beginning of September. Was at skegness in middle of August and had hounds and also fished cleveleys before that and only had a small flatty lol.

Was thinking the same but the warm temperatures & calmer seas might have delayed things
(I'm trying to convince myself)

Don't know what's happened this year at cleveleys, been twice & never saw a smoothhound Caught

Yeah it was crap when me and my dad went, although my dad had a small tope or smoothy. I'll be straight down skegness again next year, great summer fishing

Think it's too late myself buddy,some body dwn my way had an 8lber one day last week,but been very,very slow of late.Even dwn the lincs coast,chaple,bohemia point etc it's been the same story.Prob best leaving it till nxt sring/summer,still chance of sum good rays dwn my way if it stays mild n settled,but even they have been scarce of late.
