have you been in touch with conoflex.

i had a conoflex rakata fished with it for a year no problems liked it even if it was too stiff for me.

about a foot and a half snapped off top of tip practising casting in a field, i contacted conoflex and had a new tip off them within a fortnight cost free.

had a nemesis plus snap 6 inches offf the tip once only had a bit weed on ,nowt weightwise ,my other rods have brought 20 times as much in and thats the truth ,i didnt bother ringing conoflex and see if they could help because when me pals diablo snapped they only REPAIRED it and charged him a great sum postage ,it had never had any stick before:mad: i gave it away and will never ever ever buy another conoflex, even though i used to be a good fan ,i stick to century now theyve never let me down;)

Any fishing rod could snap, I believe what Rossi says about getting a nick in the carbon weakening it. I have had two rods snap in all the years I have fished and one of them was a Century Plum, these things happen.

Jim.

Snapped the top 100mm of my Super flicktip last year, no real reason why it snapped, only had the rod 25 years, totally gutted that I had an excuse to buy a new Conoflex. Now useing an Enigma. Anybody outthere got an old Super flick tip tip in the garage.

well its funny one of my centuries ive had for around 20 year and used heavily every season had no bother with it at all still here, and reeled cod up to 8 pounders up cliffs with it on a few occasions ,but the conoflex 2 nd season snapped and i know it had never been knocked in my care [from brand new] so to me i know what was inferior out of the two , and ive saw whats been popped of me pals [was there when the diablo parted for no reason],greys srx seem to like a bit splinter aswell, but thats just my opinion of course plum

I've had a Ballistic for over 10 years now and I've never had a pick of bother with it. Brought a hell of a lot of weed in with it over the years.

I've had two experiences of the above named rods snapping at the tip. Mate of mine from South Shields managed to snap the last eight inches off his when snagged up on the groyne in the Tyne estuary. Sent it off to Conoflex who repaired it (not cheap). Year later mine snapped in roughly the same place while pulling out of the weed at St Mary's lighthouse. I didn't bother getting it repaired, just tidied up the end and put a new tip ring on. It still fishes like there's no fish left in the sea, or is that me!!!. Still like the rod though.
