Not been out on the yak for a while and I have just got a new Rovex pro lure spinning rod from an online store down east coast (won't mention name) for £25.
So thought I would try for some bass for a few hours on saturday, started off at the sumps at seaton sluice, all going well, nice casting and action to the rod. Decided to head round to Hartley for a try out so casts out and my plug became caught on some kelp on one of the rocks below me.
So I gave the rod a quick jerk and to my amazement the rod snapped on one of the eye whippings. Could not believe it as this has never happened before but I thought oh well, go home and e mail shop and they should replace as it obvious to me that it's a defect.
E mailed yesterday and explained what happened , they have said to return the rod but I should not have jerked the rod but I should have cut my line. They are going to send back to rovex to see if I can have a replacement but as it's an accident in there opinion they don't think they will
They say they have sold loads of there rods and it has never happened before.
Just wanted to see if people on here think I am being unreasonable asking for a replacement? I don't think that a rod in this day and age should snap so easy.
Any comments appreciated and I will keep you all posted how it goes but I am not hopeful.
