Snow

looks familiar I was out in my landrover over the moors in the dark only other motor I seen was another landy which turned out to be a lad from work had a good laugh playing follow the leader but my lass was bricking it

How man :red:

Me and my mate Jo painted things on saturday. I even grund a few things with the mad spinning device. Transferred rust from the deisel tanks to my face, I will need to "Hammerite" myself before going to work. We rewarded ouselves after a full 4 hour shift with a number of hot chocolate / bovril numbers and a funny cigarette. I checked everything before we left - Fire off, bilges, DC power shutdown, doors locked, mooring ropes attached - got to the car to see a lovely light on in the wheelhouse. How'd that happen! :o

still be fricking august by the time this snow goes

getting serious now. coal man due in 2 days, we've got 3 days worth of coal left, and 500 yards of track that looks like a cresta run (and performs like one) for 16 ton truck to try get up.

failing that we'll start on the table first, then burn the chairs and the children

the 2 foot of snow that was on the track has now been compacted down to 6" of ice where the farmy types have been up in caterpillar tracked tractory things to worry their sheep

track casualties that have tried and failed are Nissan Nivara x 2, frontera x 1, discovery x 1, suzuki jimny x 1 and several quad bikes

at the top of the leader board tonight are the disco and the nivara, which both got as far as the hairpin bend (on a 1 in 4 incline), before losing it and sliding sideways back down

experimented with a garden spade to try break the ice up earlier

hope to get out shopping tomorrow to buy a new spade
