I was busy today till later in the afternoon,so while the wife was in having her hair done i called Sports and Leisure in Blyth to check they had some bait, planned to go out tonight.
Got a yes to the bait and i said i would nip down.
I did about 30/40 mins later, shop was shut.
Think they could have mentioned that they were shutting up early.
Fed up with some of the attitude in there,i have always tried to shop local, bait, line, hooks, sinkers, rucksacks, headlights etc, etc.
Could have maybe got it cheaper on line but went local, but that is the last straw on top of a few things, going to look for a new supplier from now on.

what time did they shut.its usually 5pm on the button as he picks up and delivers to the other shop in ashington.strange he would of been shut earlier.
was his 4x4 not there,if it was you should of knocked am sure he would of answered.must admit ive had no problems with service from that shop, infact quite the oposite.even picked the bait up from ashington as its open a little later.

no bait and fed up

no bait and fed up

their is nothing worse mate. and its a clart on putting your gear away again but keep :)SMILLING mate.:)

The shop was all shuttered up and his car was gone.
I got home at 4 pm so it must have been about 3.45 i was there.
I can understand if they thought " stuff it its 4.40 lets go".
I have worked and managed plenty of shops,if i had called on spec then again fine, but that i called to check less then an hour before is what annoys me.
I may be doing him a dis-service and find that there was a emergency that had to be dealt with, but all staff??
I have even defended him and the shop when others have moaned about the less then cheery attitude you often get,but i have always thought that if you use a place then a relationship will be built and the response will change.
But this is not the only example, last summer i asked my son to pop in when he was down and get me some rag,he came back with the worst pile of crap i have ever seen, half worms, nearly all dead or tiny.
New face in the shop, young lad so give him the rubbish.
But as i say,he may get money off me if i need to get some bait and it is late but no loyalty now.

remember a couple of post regarding a lamp with frazers.the guy had no joy in getting his money back.anyway you cant please evryone and cant make people use just one shop.i for one use all the tackle shops and happy with all the service i have received of them all.like the other post before said go and speek to the owner and ask why after you phoned that he closed.its not like them to shut at that time he is usually on the button for 5pm and not before.
iam not defending the shop but i speak as i find.

i live in cramlington and always go to i.d or fraser,s i never go back to sport and leisure i asked him for some advice years ago just sat in his chair and mumbled something and that was that

Being a complete novice at this fishing mullarkey I have been to Frasers in Gateshead and I cannot praise the staff in there enough.

The staff are extremely helpful and have provided me with alot of good advice including advising me about a faulty new reel (bought from elsewhere)

In fact Im going back tomorrow to purchase a new multiplier and for some more advice.

From what I have heard Frasers in Whitley Bay is as good.

There a good bunch of lads in Frasers, help you with anything you need help with.
Never had a complaint about bait {worms}any time,if there worms are small theyll tell you instead of you finding out when you get home youve spent all your cash on pap

Pleased you brought that up again ryanlee as I was wondering how your mate got on. What exactly did trading standards say when he got in touch with them. I have been wanting to ask him for ages but strangely he hasn't been on line since complaining about the shop on 25th January.

Jim.

apparently its going to court.he has said they beleive they have the right to exchange goods and do not have to give you the money back.if your that concerned willy why not pm the lad,he does look in and iam sure he will answer any question you have .cheers

Got to say it...............I've never had any problems with Fraser's at Whitley at all. I remember on one instance last cod season, I had some lugworm ordered. When I arrived at the shop to pick up my order, their fridge had broken down over the weekend and the worms were 'on-their-last-legs'
However instead of trying to sell me the worms (as some other fishing tackle shops would do !) I was given a sincere appology and was offered the worms free of charge), which I accepted. They weren't "dead", but starting to go jelly-like as lugworm do. Used them all up on Blyth pier that night. Remember catching a couple of codling on them, including on of about 4 lbs.

I am not that concerned at all ryanlee, just surprised it has not been mentioned any more. As for PMing the lad what would be the point, he hasn't been on line since 25th January when he last mentioned it.

Jim.

Had a problem with my Tiga (bought from another shop) just happened to mention it in Frasers, I was told "anymore bother bring it in and I'll contact Tiga for you."
