Has anyone tried fishing with one those chemical lights ,at the other end of their rod?? you know as a fish attractor? If so was it on the hook shank, then the baited up or on the line just above the hook or on the weight and most of all did it work?(just slightly?) I get these mad ideas now and then :P We all have to be a little potty to go out fishing on a Tuesday night in the middle of a storm , its minus 3 and have to be at work 5 hours later, Great innit :D

Some people do it, don\'t know to what degree of success. A lad on Roker pier last year was using those big glowsticks attached to his rig as an experiment, don\'t know how he did.

Id never thought of that one, I must be slipping.I wonder? what about night spinning?? or even pirking, using them deep at night?or am i reely(pun intended) loosing the plot :casstet:

lol. i\'v got a thought now, i wonder ir they would work for the pike in the dark on the end of a lure! mmmmmm! mite try that next time i go pike fishing. :D :P

not sure, but i tried one on my rod on sunday and it was that cold that it didnt activate after i broke it,if the waters cold it will probably have the same effect

tich,I tried it a few years back with the small ones (2 per pack) they come with a length of clear tubing, cut this in two, pass your hook length through one, stick the chem/light in it, this traps the line so you can fix it anywhere above the hook. I used to fix mine allowing for a 4 or 5 lug pennel rig, some times it worked if things were slow but then some times an ordinary trace work as well so I\'ll reserve my judgement ;) one point if you only fish for 4 or 5 hrs put the light in the fridge when you get home then next time you fish put it in your trouser pocket (to heat it up) when you reach your mark it\'ll glow again fishy1

I suppose that could be a probalem but the sea isnt that cold. My w8 Peter swears he can get an extended life out of one by dipping it into the sea (when it starts to fade)every other cast or so.It may be you had been given a duffer, poss damaged in the shop and had been squashed and activated b4 you used it??I use sort of key ring light about the size of 2p coin It has a Led with 2 small flat3volt lithium batterys I just tape it onto the end of my rod just above the 2nd last ring its brill and you can switch it off.I would reccon 15/20 hours use they only cost a £1 from the poundshop (obviously) in Eldon Sqr just above the Green Mrkt.Thats if any are left (ask if not) they come and go.I got 10 for the 3 of us ,3colours red green and blue, not very waterproof but a few wraps of insulation tape soon sorts that out I swear the jets that fly over W/Bay beach at night think its Newcastle airports runway they seem to drop very fast and try to line up between our rod tips

oops pressed the wrong buttons Fishy 1 you and my m8 seem to have the same idea IT looks as if the cold thing works, cheers 4 the info Tich ;)
