South Shields Pier 01/08/10

Fished Shields Pier this morning from 9.30am till 1.30pm with 'the old man'.

Started off between Mark 45 and the blocks - Big mistake......

3 Shock Leaders, 3 lots of Terminal tackle and Four Sinkers later...........(and that was just me!!!! !!!)

Headed on Down to Mark 44 at low water - as the lads that were fishing there had just left.

Next 3 casts 1 Cod, 1 Coalie and 1 Flounder, each tipping the scales at the 1Lb mark then all went quiet.

All were caught on Pulley Rigs baited with Ragworm tipped with Peeler Crab.

As the old man was still losing Terminal tackle like it was going out of fashion we packed up and left.

All in all an indifferent session, exhilaration of catching fish mixed with the frustration of losing gear

There were plenty of people out today don't know how they got on?......

2 weeks running i have watched a crabing boat drop his pots he starts about 47 mark and takes them down to 32 mark 1 string of pots the pots are between 2 blue dans thats what you have been snaging on
