South shields pier 12-01-12

Got to te pier for 10:30am was really windy all day but managable hard to spot bites but like a say managble.

Started off really well first 3 chucks resulted in 3 fish 2 nice dabs and 1 small whiting

Alan the vikings mate came along about 11 ish and as he did my rod tip gans and in comes 2 size whiteys
After that it slowed to a complete stop ne fish ne bites

This carried on until atleast 3 hours before top tide and in came a few more all size last few chucks and i managed a coalie and couple more whiting lost a fish which felt more like a cod and took my fresh black and mussell cocktail wouldnt have been any bigger than 3lb though
Last chuck and in came another whitey
Resulted in 7 whitey 1 coalie and 2 dabs
Bait was fresh blacks rag mussell and bluey crackin day spesh in that wind also a belting sunset

Good effort mate, shame for the one that got away.
Nice sunset too.
I'm hoping to get down the pier at the weekend, work permitting.

Still a good result even without the cod you lost. Good luck on Sunday, are you wrecking. Would take bait with you as well for over the wrecks.
