South Shields Pier 25/05/08

18:00 to 23:00 on the very end of the pier, 3 of us with peeler and lug,
2x 1.5lb codling,
1 big rockling
and a whole mangle of other peoples gear including a feather rig and 4 x 6oz grippa weights.

I;m still waiting for my first big fish, but it was fun

i was on there on saturday i got a plaice from the 40 mark, there was loads of flattys coming in from the 44

Well done on the codling and the free tackle . just goes to show not all codling disapear, over here small shoals of coastal codling swim close in around sunset to feed, then they are gone to cooler deeper water by morning.
so you were lucky to meet them right place, right time. good-luck on a big one next time
