South shields pier 26/01/12

Fish from 11am till 6:30 plenty lads out when i get there although they seemed to all dissapear along with the fish
First hour was plenty of bites but only 1 fish to show for it a lovely chubby dab

There was nowt for the next couple of hours as it was flooding hard
Stuck it out and in came a few whiteys all size. Had a shift to the south east corner and straight into decent whiting managed this one pushing on for 2lb

Doesnt look that big on the photo but believe me it was a BIG whitey
Another hour and walked away with these

Only seen 2 codling today taken by a lad next to me one at 3lb and one at 1.5lb
Had the pleasure of a seal pup all day lying on the steps at the pier head

Shame a didnt get any codling , theres a lovely sea running
Bait was fresh blacks rag lug

A hope a get a few more codling before the seasons up the conditions today couldnt have been more perfect there will definately be a few reports up by tomorrow from the beaches

Nice sesh and pics mate. Seen a little seal half way up the beach a couple of weeks ago when going on. Very vulnerable but it just couldn't give a f**k. And I don't think it had been to the bar as it was 09:00
