Went down at 12pm and met up with Bob C. We fished before the gate for a couple of hours and only caught a couple of Tommies. Couple lads came off end and had 6 pounders so on the turn of the tide I tried off the end but gave up after a couple of casts and losing gear to snags.
Went back to gate and had couple more casts-nowt doing so called it a day at about 8pm.
Mick.

fished just down from the gate with my m8 from 10.15am 5.50pm
my m8 had a cod around 3lb and lost a good fish never seen as many anglers fishing think there was a competition on.
very few fish landed, I had zero myself:( apart from pulling in some lost gear :red:

At least you tried mick long walk but when you hear 6 pounders its to much to resist it crossed my mind but I was down for a short session 100 yds down from the gate went about 6pm whitey a cast when it got dark

Would have thought there would have been more about like, might be the last chance this weekend.

How was the sea lads? Might try the Heugh if its calmed down rather than the long walk down Horden flight???

Tough luck after that long hike Mick but you never know till you try m8. I had one cast at Hendon and had to cut my line at the ree,l it was so knotted up with ladies towels and all sorts of shi&e. Worst ive seen.

I'm surprised as yesterday Hendon was completely clean no crap in the water at all unless the sea has came away since then or they all flushed at the same time inland :-/

Least there's fish about it seems, could make for a canny weigh in for the NESA match tomorrow night. Fingers crossed the fish will be playing out ;)

Well done for at least being out there Mick, that weather turned crap later on

Dale think I was fishing next to you. The lad had a Penn suit on and was using fixed spool with braid on beachcaster. Gave us some hope when we saw the fish.
Mick.

no mick I had a sundrige storm beach on both fishing with zziplez rods and multi reels, my rod stand next to the wall tyring to dodge the wind.
I was the one with the big bikers grey tash sitting on me tackle box most of the day trying to keep warm.

sure there was a lot fishing in that short area I tend to go to the other side of the gate but as it was closed we just got the first spot available. the other problem is my m8 cant walk that far after his opp on his leg. so we just stayed there .
it was a day out for him I was pleased he got a fish to take home, as for me keep on trying :D
