South Shields Pier

Does anyone know if the pier is shut on friday night?? I've just read a post on here saying it's shut for the weeked for the QE2...

Im not certain of when it "officially" closes for the QE2 but i think that you should be ok for friday night, dont get many people on after sunset if you know what i mean! Good luck!

Just been told that Tynemouth Pier is closed from tonight until Monday lunch time, so South Shields Pier could be the same. Apparently it's to allow them to set up the fireworks and the like!!!!

Tony, Phil has just txt and suggested rock marks south side...what do you think??? It's either that or i quite fancy a beach or rock mark tynemouth whitley bay way???
