Species hunting froma boat

After reading through the catch reports of late, we seem to target mackerel, cod, ling, pouting, and a few flatties from the boat.

Has anyone else tried for any other species using more specific tactics? I personally would love to target Bass off the boat - thinking maybe close in around the longsands area.

Wondering what peoples thoughts are.

I do this all the time since there is only so much cod and ling you can eat.

We have had turbot and skate trips...and many tope and shark trips...some have been succesful some not.

There are certainly alternate species out there...just read the report about the flattie session to confim that.

I'm out on tues after bass on a charter boat...not a normal NE charter but the skipper feels we could do well.
