Don't want to put yer on a downer more mate but if it's the stretch going past the imperial hotel I think it might be a 30 limit, if so you may be offered a fixed pen of 3 points and £60 notes fine (take it if offered). If it is a 40limit,and I hope it is for your sake, you should be offered a speed awareness course, cost £80 for the course and no prosecution, I got offered one of these for doing 37 in a 30 so that should be the case.
I just recieved a fixed pen notice today for doing 43 in a 30 at seaton sluice, really pis*ed me off as it's the first time I've had a clean licence for ages.:(

If your talking about the camera van that parks in the entrance to the cemetry, then its a 30 limit along that road.

Yes, that's what I thought and if correct doing 47 in it is borderline as to whether you get offered a fixed pen or get reported by the old bill to the magistrates. Goodluck Lingking

I heard its five years in Durham if you speed past that camera :p

All depends who's on the magisrates bench mate. If it's a yuppie with a porsche 911 parked outside and just doing it to add to his portfolio then it'll be £60 and 3 points, on the other hand if it's an auld boot who's mother has recently been knocked ower on a zebra crossing by a boy racer then his feet won't touch the ground.

Newcastle mags is full of ex shop keepers from darras hall, hexham, corbridge and suchlike.
But they only go on what the clerk of the court says !!
And there all gits as well !!!! Welcome to pointsville mate
