Haven't posted a question for a while.....;)

Do we get Spider Crabs in any great numbers on our shoreline?

Plus has anyone used them as bait when they're peeling?

hmmmm never seen any,, or any shells washed up on the beach or owt,, see alot of them in pembrokeshire. why would you use them for bait would you not just eat them ??

Walkway shields, get loads of them in March and April, caught one a few years back and it must have been 5" accross, it had alsorts of things growing on its shell.

They like amckerel lol as i found out fishing for whitey in that mark.

Spider crabs are caught regularly on the trawlers, they seem to be more of a deep water species, but do get the odd ones from the shore.

Had the odd ones, harbours usually (maybe by-catch dumped by the boats?), think they're like some species where we see a load one year then none for ages...

You mean little ones like this
