Spinning for mackerel

Hi,

I was just wanting to know if there is anywhere north of the tyne to go spinning for them?. I don't drive so the furthest north I can go would be st. mary's.

Also ive seen them being caught from the fish quay in north shields on the float, any point in spinning for them from the quay, or would I be better off using a float?

pipe at whitley bay, I've never been on there myself but if you search the forums there are some old posts if I recall.

That would probably be my choice too Lee. Please be careful when fishing Whitley pipe though Shaun, do not even think about fishing it if there is any sea running. Don't forget either that you can be cut off quite quickly when the sea runs in behind you.
