Spirit of s.shields/jarrow police station

Fished spirit of s.shields today 12 til 3 without a bite so drove up to jarrow police station and first cast caught whiting about 30cm (not a coalie!) second cast got big bite and struck it straight away and was in to a decent fish, got it to about 20 yards out (i could see my shock leader just out the water) and my weight or second hook got snagged on rocks or weed and i ended up losing the lot including my leader!!!!!!
Carried on til 6pm and had a little codling about 20cm and another little coalie about 15cm. All fish returned but little coalie didnt survive
Bait used lug with bluey tip.
All in all a good day
