Fancied a bait fishing session today on SSP and fished the seaward side of the rubble (25 mark) for an hour or so then the bay side of the slab for an hour. Not a single touch. Even the guys coming off the end were saying there was nought happening. So I left and found that Roker was open so I fished it for a couple of hours. Good move cause I managed a Codling just on size (went back) then a welcome Mackerel on the daylight rod (first Mackerel of the season on the first Mackerel attempt of the season, well chuffed). A. Nice winter fish and a good summer fish all in the same session 
The best guy today though was the blond kid who was the Macky man of the day with 6 or 7 Mackerel when the rest of us were struggling.
